Yoga Tips-Ayurvedic Body Types- Vata Dosha- Yoga Knowledge-Water (Jal)

Yoga
The sister science of yoga, Ayurveda, which is one of the oldest medical fields practiced tilled today, teaches that our bodies are made up of five elements: Earth (Prithvi), water (Jal), fire (Agni), Vayu (air), and akasha (sky).

Also known as “Bhuta Shudi”, the balancing of the five elements in our bodies is an essential part of ensuring longevity, vitality, and long-term health according to Yogic and Ayurvedic traditions.

Sanjeev Shivananda explains in the second of a five-part series of his “divine” yoga tips on how to keep these five elements balanced within us, and why they are essential to our health, happiness, and success in our lives.

In this video, Sanjeev explains how we can balance the water element within our bodies with simple everyday changes we can make to our hydration routines.

He also elaborates on the Vata body type (doshas), why hydration and water intake affect the Vata dosha within our bodies, why it’s important to keep this dosha element balanced within us in order to potentially avoid certain health problems (due to Vata imbalance) in the latter stages of one’s life.
